WE ARE OPEN

Friends and RCA Family, We are super excited to tell you that we are reopening for in-person church services starting this Sunday, June 7th at our normal times of 9am and 11am! Not quite ready to gather in public yet? No problem. We understand everyone’s situation is unique. We will still be streaming our services online at 9am and 11am for you to enjoy from the comfort of your home. These past two months have been challenging to say the least! We are so grateful for God’s provision, and for all of your patience, encouragement, support, and prayers as we have navigated the many challenges of fully-remote ministry. Thank you!!! As we reopen, things will look different for a bit.

IMPORTANT CHANGES

We want you to know about some very important changes:

  • FACE COVERINGS ARE REQUIRED  | Everyone entering the building (staff, volunteers, and visitors) must wear a face covering while inside, except those that are exempted by CDPH guidance (children under 2 yrs old, those with physical/mental conditions or hearing impairment preventing the use of face coverings, etc). Please bring your own face covering if you have one. We have a very limited supply available at the door if you forget one.

  • IN-PERSON SINGING IS TEMPORARILY ON HOLD | At this time, in-person singing will be paused. However, this will not stop us from worshiping our Heavenly Father and experiencing His presence! The worship portion of our service will incorporate recorded songs, scripture reading, and testimonies, and we encourage you to join us in prayer and through singing in our hearts to show God our love for Him.

  • VISITOR SCREENING FOR COVID SYMPTOMS IS REQUIRED | We ask that you self-screen for COVID symptoms before arriving. If you or anyone in your household are sick or exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 (fever over 100.4 F, cough, or shortness of breath), please stay home and enjoy our service online! We will remind you to self-screen when you arrive. If you forgot to check your temperature, no problem—let us know at the door and we will be happy to check it with one of our touchless thermometers.

  • CAPACITY LIMIT | Attendance at each service will be limited to 75 people total, including our staff. Our greeters will be keeping count at the door, and when capacity is reached, our doors will be closed and no additional visitors may enter. We hate to turn anyone away, but this is a state requirement for this initial phase of reopening. If you are as excited as we are about attending in-person, we encourage you to arrive early! But if you don’t make it in, don’t worry— we will still be live streaming both services.
  • NO "RCA KID'S" MINISTRIES During this initial phase, we are unable to offer kids’ church or childcare. However, you are welcome to bring your entire family into the regular service.

  • COFFEE BAR IS CLOSED |  Our coffee bar and water fountains will not be open during this initial phase. Feel free to bring your own if you like!

ADDITIONAL STEPS WE ARE TAKING

We love you guys so much! Your health and safety is extremely important to us, so we are taking additional steps to make this gathering as safe as possible:

  • Our staff and volunteers are being screened for fever and COVID symptoms when we arrive to begin preparing the church for you.

  • Before you get here, we will perform a thorough cleaning of the entire facility including the entry, lobby, auditorium, and restrooms, taking care to sanitize all touch surfaces. You may also see us cleaning while you are here. And we’ll be cleaning again after you leave. This place is going to be extra shiny! 🙂
  • If you forget your hand sanitizer, don’t worry—we’ve got you covered. We’ll have dispensers ready for you at the entry.

  • We’re closing off every other row of seats in the auditorium to help us all maintain at least six feet of physical distancing from other households.
  • We know how much you love others too! So we are strongly encouraging you to wear a cloth face covering over your nose and mouth, especially during worship, to help prevent spreading germs to others. Please bring your own if you have them. If you forget, no problem—let us know if you want one and we’ll give you a disposable one.

  • We’re putting up stanchions (you know, those zippy little barriers they have at the movie theaters) in the lobby to guide you via one-way flow from the entry into the auditorium when you arrive.

  • We won’t be passing the offering baskets, but we still have ways for you to give! We recommend giving online or through the app—it’s super convenient. But if you still like to give “old school” that’s cool. We’ll have giving drop boxes available near the exits for you.

  • When it’s time to say goodbye, we’ll ask you to exit one row at a time from the front, out the side doors by the stage to help keep that physical distancing streak alive.

FOLLOWING SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Lastly, we want to encourage you to follow some additional safety precautions while you are visiting:

  • If you are sick or exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 (fever over 100.4 F, cough, or shortness of breath), or have family members who are ill, please stay home and enjoy our service online! And send us an email if you need anything or would like us to pray for you.
  • If you are over the age of 65 or have other underlying health conditions that put you at higher risk, we encourage you to stay home and enjoy our service online. We won’t turn you away, but we do want you to be as safe as possible.
  • If you do attend consistently, we encourage you to attend the same service time each week to minimize the number of different households you contact.

  • While you’re here, please stay at least six feet from people outside your household.

  • Avoid touching surfaces whenever possible. We’ll do our best to help hold the doors open for you!

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, or use hand sanitizer (available near the entry).
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash and wash or sanitize your hands.
  • Avoid sharing items (Bibles, pens, etc) with other household groups.
  • Instead of handshakes and hugs, greet each other with a wave and a smile! Well, we’ll just pretend we see that smile from behind your mask.

Wow, that was a lot of information we had to share with you! If you have any questions, feel free to call or email us. As we adapt to changing conditions and safety regulations, we’ll do our best to keep you safe and informed. We truly appreciate your understanding and cooperation, and we look forward to seeing you in person again!
